Poster!
I took this image of trails because I thought it symbolized the many sides that an issue can have and it's up to the viewer to find their own unique opinion. Hope you like it!

Privacy issues!
So today I went to the range to attempt to get someone else to speak on camera about such a topic. Unfortunately, I was there for 4 hours and no one wanted to speak on camera but had plenty to say off camera. I learned a lot and gained new perspectives from both sides. I also spoke with a military veteran on his views which was very interesting.
I wouldn't say today was an entire failure because I did film people shooting as B-roll. I have plenty of B-roll to mess with which I'm excited about.
After, I went home and started working on and recording my voiceovers for the B-roll. I also drew up some ideas for the type of poster I plan to create for my film.

Editing
So I began dumping all my footage into iMovie and I'm ready to bring it all together through a little editing!
The drone shot of the entrance to Markham park looks excellent as the opening and I added the title of the TV series which is "FindingCommonGround". The specific episode that I made is called guns. So my title on-screen looks like this "FindingCommonGround: Guns". A line splits FindingCommonGround from the word Guns and I did this to symbolize a ground. I also added some free background music as well. The interview was added as well but I haven't chopped it up yet since I'm going to try to add another person on Saturday or Sunday. With all these shots added I'm looking at over 15 minutes unedited which I like because I have a lot to work with. I'd rather have more than less.
One thing I'm really proud of is the composition of my interview as I took the time to research correct camera positions for recording interviews. I filmed my interview outside with lots of guns firing in the background as I felt it would add reality to my film. While the shots were loud, they did not drown out my subject which is good.
I'll be back in 3-4 days to tell you guys how part two of subject hunting went at the Markham park Skeet/Trap range!

Interview #1!
Wow!
Finding people to talk about their views on guns isn't hard at all, what's hard is getting them to speak on camera! After asking around and having good conservations with multiple people, I finally found a guy willing to speak on camera as long as it were used for educational purposes as I stated it would be used for. It's understandable as to why many did not want to be filmed as they feared their privacy would be infringed upon.
Nothingless, I got some useful footage with plenty of information and more b-roll as well. Since I only found one person today, I was told to come back on Saturday or Sunday as these are their busiest times and I would have more luck on those days. I would like to have a second person in my excerpt to also speak but time will tell if I'm able to accomplish this given how controversial my topic is.
I also chose to film at the Skeet/Trap range because it is different than the typical gun range and is more interesting in terms of film.
